Kolmar Korea and Samyoung Machinery, a professional 3D printer manufacturer, have made a strategic alliance, and after two years of research and development, they succeeded in manufacturing a skin care product by printing a cream type on the high concentration essence using the 3D printers.

Kolmar Korea has developed cosmetic ingredient composition which can keep the design and color stable, and Samyoung Machinery has provided a solution to precisely conduct 3D printing with the high viscosity materials. This technology has created a unique cosmetic form that contains the essence, cream, and two types of cosmetics in one container. The 3D printing method visually designs the desired shape by precisely stacking the cream type cosmetics through specialized nozzles on the high viscosity essence. It is expected to enhance customer satisfaction by formulating various shapes and colors with the main component of cosmetics in 3D without creating a separate mold. It is also notable that it secures the stability of the materials. With that, it is possible to maintain the stability of the form and efficacy even when two types of cosmetics are composed together, preserve the effect of ingredients and be differentiated in design as well. Kolmar Korea plans to offer 3D printing cosmetics technology to their clients and commercialize them through a brand company.

"We will continue to improve our material development and facilities through continuous investment and technical cooperation, and will secure the productivity and diversity," and "We will also apply the 3D printing technology to lipsticks and compact powder and make them a world's best and 'Only-One' product," said Kolmar.
