The Ministry of Science and ICT recently announced that the number of R&D companies, which is a representative innovation model for R&D special zones for successful commercialization of public research and development achievements, exceeded 700. Among them, 39 were the cosmetic research institutes. The research institute enterprise is established by investing the technology of the public research institute. The first established cosmetics-related research institute was the KOLMAR BNH and the SM Nanobio opened its doors in 2013. Following that, 2 institutes in 2014, 1 in 2015, 14 in 2016, 16 in 2017, and just 4 were added in 2018.
