Givaudan, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, and Provital simultaneously introduced new products targeting the global market at the PCHi Shanghai.
PCHi opened yesterday (20th) at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC) in China. PCHi (Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients) is a Chinese cosmetics materials and personal care sourcing platform, with over 800 companies from 30 countries (including over 40 Korean companies) participating this year. The organizers predicted that about 30,000 people would attend over the three days the conference will feature about 200 presentations over 17 topics.
Givaudan signaled the launch of a global new product on the first day of opening. The new biotechnology ingredient is ‘Illuminyl™ 388’, a skin whitening prebiotic. Subsequently, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics introduced the patented biomimetic LCE6A peptide called ‘Corneopeptyl™’. The Spanish company Provital presented ‘Shiloxome™’, an active ingredient that strengthens the skin barrier through self-restructuring.
There is a reason why these companies introduced new global products in China. Shan Godbille, Head of Marketing at Givaudan, said: “China is an important market. According to a survey by the Consumer Marketing Insights (CMI) team, this region has a high correlation between cosmetics and ingredients.”
About 50 new products were introduced in the ‘New Product Showcase’. From Korea, KPT (Korea Particle Technology) exhibited ‘C5-OT’, a moisturizer containing various types of ceramides.
In the Sustainability zone, 16 products from Hallstar Company and Symrise were introduced, and in the Beauté Gourmet zone, 7 products from Sethic and others were introduced.
The ‘PCHi Fountain Awards 2024’ ceremony, which started in 2017, was held at the InterContinental Shanghai Expo Hotel. The results of the PCHi Cosmetics Science & Technology Innovation Committee (CSTIC) selection across 13 categories were announced. Maeng Yong-jae, general manager of LG Household & Health Care China R&D Center, participated in the award ceremony.
Meanwhile, the PCHi Technology Summit, which celebrates its 8th anniversary this year, will be held in Guangzhou from August 20 to 21, and next year's PCHi will be held in Guangzhou from February 19 to 21.
