Exports of cosmetics increased by 26.6 % on-year last year. Exports amount to 6.278 billion dollars. According to the 2018 Export-Import Trends released by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on Jan. 1, exports of cosmetics rose 26.6 % on-year which is in the amount of $6.27 billion. Exports of cosmetics stood at $4.959 billion in 2017. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said cosmetics, the top five promising consumer products, along with strategies to diversify local portfolios of local companies, saw a double-digit increase for the seventh consecutive year due to sustained Korean wave such as K-Pop in ASEAN, in U.S. and in Japan, and the China-centered recovery following the aftermath of THAAD.
